En hälsning från San Francisco

From the December 1 to March 12 2008 I'll be traveling. Right now we are in San Francisco, CA. Tomorrow we will see an exhibition at the Cartoon Art Museum with illustrations by Edward Gorey and Mary Blair. Than drive The High Way 1 and on Christmas weare sitting on a beach in the South Pacific.

Tid för en fika i Rosendals Trädgård

Today the Christmas market at Rosendals Trädgård (The Rosendal Garden) on Djurgården begins. It will be going on between November 24 and December 20. I am happy to announce that they will be selling my book Tid för en fika (Time for a coffie break). Do like all citizen of Stockholm do :-) take a "fika" in one of the lovley greenhouses, all dressed in winter white of course.

One week from now I will be sitting on a plane to San Francisco and that
will onley bee the first stop on my around-the world-trip. In SF I want
to visit the Cartoon Art Gallery. There are two illustration exhibitions
going on - Edward Gorey and Mary Blair. I hope to find time to write about

Tid för en fika - Exhibition

Jag ställer ut valda illustrationer ur boken Tid för en fika på http://www.agueli.se/ i Stockholm. Välkommen till VERNISSAGE fredag den 16 november kl. 16-21. Utställningen pågår till den 22 november.
Galleriet har öppet lö-sö 11-17, må-fr 10-18.

On November 16 the vernissage for my exhibition took place. Now one week has gone and it is time to pack my illustrations. I suppose this was the last exhibition for my coffee cups. You can still buy the book in the shop on my web site.



Today I´m at the gallery from 1 pm to 6 pm. Come to the gallery if you feel for a "fika" with me. The café have many things on the menu exept for coffee :-)

Tid för en fika

I have just post the first invitation cards for my exhibition on November 16th and I still have a few more to post with snail mail :-)

For your notice the first show was in The Visby Graphic Workshop Gallery on Gotland this summer and it was a colourfull 50th century feeling in the former laundry.

If there is no chance of coming, keep your eyes on my website. Next year you have the chance to buy the prints on the shop.

Latest addition in my shelf

I love our bookcase. Seriously, I do'nt know what to do when I add a book on the last space on this shelf?! However, there are still room for a few more. And the latest discovery on the Amazon are my two new favorites.


Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life

The great illustrator Charley Harper (1922-2007) appears in a new book. Edited and designed by Todd Oldham. Big colour posters with all his beautifully illustrated animals and birds and a lot of other illustrations too. This huge book can only be fitted on the living room table, that is if you want to take it out of it's lovely graphic box :-)


Now and then you might come across some books of his in second-hand bookshops, like this biology book.



Tord Boontje

Inspiring pictures of Tord Boontje work and paper cuts. The pages in the book are perforated, a nice surprise.

Reading!

Making my debut as a childrens book illustrator with a book about the human body. Relese of the childrens book Jonathan och Kroppen (Jonathan and the body) on the Book Fair in Gothenburg was October 1. Writer Karin Salmson, publisher Vilda Förlag.
Tonight is a reading on the Allmänna Galleriet in Stockholm for the queer ABC book, but the "body book" will also be shown.

Flora Metamorphicae

The most lovley exhibition at the Gallery of Blås och Knåda in Stockholm. Ceramic flowers in soft and bright colours. Like somthing from the deep blue. It brings in me a big desire. Unfortunely they can only be bought in a big bunch with flowers.


The two pictures above with the flowers I took in the gallery. The other is from the catalogue. But they has to be seen live and october 24th is the last day. The artists are from Norway: Kari Aasen, Lippa Dalén, Siri Haaskjold, Bjørg Hougen, Audhild Rypdal and Eli Veim.

It is nice...

The Swedish Publishing Prize 2007

The public health care magazine Vårdguiden was awarded in the Swedish Publishing Prize 2007 for it´s topicality and joy of reading. I am happy to be one of the contributors.

Nu hänger årets Vaccinationskampanj uppe på vårdcentralerna i Stockholm. Det är tredje året i rad som illustrationerna nyser på affischer, annonser och annat informationsmateria. Kampanjen en succé redan 2005 och med ett nytt mönster och färgställning varje år, tycks inte patienterna tröttna.Vårdguiden.se

Konstkortlek

54 Gotlänska konstnärer har samlats i en och samma kortlek. Alla original ställs ut på Majs Konstloft i Väte 12 - 15 juli 2007.

Utställning i Grafikgruppens Galleri Visby

Illustrationer från boken "Tid för en fika" ställs ut i Grafikgruppens Galleri, Ryska Gränd 18 i Visby. 10 illustrationer tryckta på akvarellpapper finns att beställa i måtten 70x100 och 50x70.

Vernissage söndag den 8/7 kl.13-20.
Utställningen pågår under hela Almedalsveckan
till och med lördag den 14/7 kl. 16-19.

Nominated for Kolla!

My book Tid för en fika was nominated in the Swedish Design and Illustration compedition The Kolla! Award. Stockholm Illustration had the multiple pleasure of collecting several prices. Read more about the winning-awards on CapDesign.
